Tomi Gray is an Australian artist, songwriter and performer working at the intersection of music, theatre and controlled chaos. His work lives somewhere between the absurd and the profound — feral one moment, emotionally precise the next — and is built for the stage as much as the page. 2025 marked a defining year. Alongside national touring with Infamous Circus and continued performances as a lead in Dracula’s Cabaret, Gray undertook an ambitious creative experiment: every full moon delivering a steady stream of singles, EPs and albums. The result was a sprawling body of work that spans satire, confession, dancefloor derailment and surreal storytelling. In recent years Gray has honed his stage skills touring internationally and at home, with performances at festivals including Yonder Fest (QLD), Ferrara Fest (Italy), Folklorum (Germany), Elfia (Netherlands), Mitchell Creek Blues (QLD) and Wallaby Creek (Cairns). Whether solo, off with the circus, lighting stages with biting cabaret or belting bands, his performances have become known for blurring genres and expectations — part concert, part theatre, part sideways sermon. With the 2025 release cycle now complete, Gray turns fully toward his next chapter:

'Tomi Gray’s Trip', a large-scale solo work premiering at Adelaide Fringe from MARCH 15. Psychoactive therapy in the form of a cabaret, Tomi Gray’s Trip is an immersive live show combining music, surreal comedy, puppetry, animations and a sprinkle of cabaret into a full-body theatrical experience. Compared to 'a collision between The Mighty Boosh and Big Lez show set to music', the work is steeped in Australiana, altered-state philosphy and carnivale grunge — less a show to watch, than one to move through. Where the full-moon releases mapped Gray’s restless inner world, Tomi Gray’s Trip externalises it — bringing his songs, characters and ideas into a single volatile live form. It is a show built for an overstimulated generation: funny, confronting, strangely sincere, and unafraid to take big ideas seriously while laughing at them. ALL ABOARD!
